Curriculum Features

Curriculum description

There are many classes in each level, beginner, intermediate, advanced, and advanced. We aim to develop a comprehensive balance of Japanese language skills in reading, listening, writing, and speaking, which can be used for university entrance examinations while preparing for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and the Japanese Language Study Abroad Examination. In the class, we use a lot of live teaching materials such as newspapers and TV news.

Beginner level

We will use not only textbooks but also painting materials, photographs, and raw materials, so that each student can actively speak in a fun atmosphere. The goal is to have a vocabulary of 2,000 words and 500 Kanji, and break through the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 3.

Objectives for class content
  • Basic grammar and sentence patterns.
  • Vocabulary 2000 words and 500 Kanji characters.
  • Establishment of skill no. 4.
  • It enables self-expression useful for daily life with plain sentence patterns and vocabulary.
Remarks This class is designed to be a fun atmosphere where each person can speak positively using a lot of picture materials.

Intermediate level

Classes will be held for each genre, such as reading comprehension, listening comprehension, and conversation, and deepen understanding of Japanese culture. Intermediate goals include grasping 7,000 vocabulary words and 1000 Kanji, and breaking through the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2.

Objectives for class content
  • Somewhat advanced grammar.
  • Vocabulary 7000 words and 1000 kanji words.
  • It is possible to use phrase expressions such as idioms and phrases to be appropriate for the occasion.
  • Can write a simple essay and express a little more advanced.
Remarks Classes that incorporate language-specific classes such as reading comprehension, listening comprehension, conversation, and composition are also available. Students also take a competency test, study abroad exam preparation classes, and project work.

Advanced level

Development of preparation classes for the entrance examination and university entrance exams. We aim to understand 10,000 vocabulary words and 2000 kanji and pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 1. In addition to the above, there will be conversation classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Then, we will study in the suburbs and provide education aimed at learning not only Japanese for exams but also living Japanese. That is the feature of the Hitachi Gakuin curriculum.

Level of higher education

We provide a guide on entering the school once a year. Besides, we will participate in an admission briefing session in Tokyo.

Short-Term Course (3 months)

The school has an audition system, and short-term transfer of one to three months is possible depending on the level of Japanese. Besides, you can intensively improve your Japanese language skills in a short period.
